During the semester, the extent to which I have achieved the course learning objectives differs. The first objective what to gather, interpret and assess the information from various sources and different points of view. I have learned how to gather information from various by searching the keywords. The keywords will lead you to suitable sources and points of view; hence find the correct information about your paper. After gathering the sources, I can interpret and assess them to get the information that suits the objectives. After interpreting the views and the sources, evaluating the arguments and evidence is crucial.
The second objective was to evaluate the evidence and arguments analytically or critically. I have evaluated the arguments and the evidence of different sources and views critically. One way which I have learned is evaluating the references and the time, which they were published. It helps to utilize the current information and not using and outdated sources. I also manage to sample the best arguments that will suit my writing as a writer. Critical and analytical way of evaluating the concepts is significant in writing concrete arguments, I have been able to think through an argument critically and analytically before I make conclusions.
The other objective is to identify and apply the fundamental methods and concepts of different fields such as music, media arts, creative thinking, and theater. During the semester, I have studied different disciplines and concepts in different fields of study. For instance, in the field of creative writing, I gathered several ideas that will make your writing stand out and draw the attention of readers. Some ideas include thinking about your reader, extending the metaphors, and writing an attention-grabbing introduction that will make your paper stand out. During the semester, I have gathered different ideas and concepts of fields such as communication, among others.
Another objective was to develop well-reasoned oral or written arguments supporting the conclusions. In producing these arguments, the extent to which I have achieved this objective is by highlighting the general view of each argument, giving examples, thesis statements, and citing every argument. It will be evident that your arguments and conclusions are valid if you cite and give examples of each one of them. I have achieved this objective fully by continuous practice in writing many papers. Another objective was articulating how meaning is created in arts and communication, conveying, and interpreting experience. The extent to which I have achieved this goal is by negotiating through symbols, words, pictures, gestures, and objects, among others. For instance, the use of words when communicating will show if you are polite or not. I have learned to create meaning by evaluating the art or communication analytically and then concluding. I have also learned how to interpret and convey different experiences by putting myself in the situation and drawing necessary conclusions after comparing others’ views.
An essential part of writing is research. There is a cliché that states that there is nothing new under the sun. the implication of this statement is that in most things we might think of someone has done something near or similar. Certainly, for this class, a big portion of things we covered in writing had been done before. However, merely because someone has done it before does not mean that this information is widely and readily available for everyone. An individual must master the skills of conducting research in libraries, various databases, and most commonly, general online search. The internet has made available an unimaginable amount of information with quick search. Regardless, one must understand how and what to search for to find the information they need to incorporate in their writing.
What I have learned in this course will be influential in my future academic career. As a writer, assessing and interpreting techniques that I have gained will help me write the correct information in my future academic papers and be an exceptional writer in my career. The fundamental concepts of art and communication that I have achieved in this course will help me explore different fields in my academic career. Most of the careers depend on how equipped you are because proving something exceptional will depend on the skills you gain.
Additionally, I have also learned that exploring other people’s experiences is critical. The course has taught me various analytical and critical skills to evaluate arguments to develop reasonable interpretations and convey your information as required. Generally, the extent to which I have achieved the course’s objectives puts me in a better place to excel my future academic career.
